Saranac's Rory Patterson (2) lays it in off the window for two of his seven-point night. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic contest featuring the Saranac Chiefs and Ausable Valley Patriots it would also be the hall of fame night in Ausable. The game would start off tight as the Patriots would hold a one-point lead after one at 15-14, In the second quarter the Patriots would open up the game-winning the quarter 22-10 and have a 37-24 lead at the intermission. During halftime of the game, the Patriots would honor there 2016 Hall of Fame class by inducting Joey Painter, Evan Mousseau, Craig Beizo, and the 1994 football team. When the teams came back out for the third quarter they would come out a little slow as the Chiefs win the quarter 8-4 but still trail 41-32. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would try there best to get back in the game but the deficit would be too much as they tie the quarter at 12 and fall to the Patriots 53-44. Leading the way for the Chiefs would be Nick Mathers with 25 points as the Chiefs fall to 3-7 on the season. Gallery

It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic contest featuring the Saranac Chiefs and Ausable Valley Patriots it would also be hall of fame night in Ausable. This would be a game that the Plattsburgh Hornets would dominate from start to finish. The Hornets would have a 20-9 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, it would be more of the same as the Hornets would win the quarter 19-13 and take a 39-22 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter it would stay Hornets game as they win the quarter 26-12 and lead the game 65-34. The Hornets would go into coast mode in the fourth quarter and the Cheifs would win the quarter 15-13. Although the Hornets would cruise to the 78-49 victory as the Hornets go to 1-3 while the Cheifs fall to 0-5 on the season. Gallery

It would be the opening round of Class D New York State Basketball Tournament as the #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs to Plattsburgh and take on the #1 Moriah Vikings. The Vikings would prove from start to finish of the game why they are the #1 team in the state as they would have a 17-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would do better to keep it close as it would be a 16-13 quarter and the Vikings would have 33-16 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be another tight quarter at 22-20 Moriah and they would maintain the lead at 55-36. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs would run out of gas and it would be a repeat of the first quarter at 17-3 and the Moriah Vikings would secure the 72-39 victory. In the losing effort, the Bulldogs season would come to end at 22-2 and Derek Labare would lead the way with nine points. Gallery

It would be time for the biggest rival game in Section X as the #4 Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Madrid-Waddington Yellow Jackets with the Eastern Division standing in the balance. It would be a speed game throughout and very physical underneath the Bulldogs would have the slim 15-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, it would still be tight and the Bulldogs would win the quarter 10-8 to have a 25-22 lead at the break. When the teams back for the third quarter it would stay tight and the Bulldogs would extend the lead winning the quarter 14-12 as the Bulldogs would have a 39-34 lead headed into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Yellow Jackets would scrap all the way and tie the game up with 9 seconds left to force overtime tied at 47. In overtime, the Bulldogs win it 7-3 and get the 54-50 victory. Chateaugay Bulldogs celebrate as they win a thriller over Madrid-Waddington in Overtime to win the Eastern Division. It would be time for the biggest rival game in Section X as the #4 Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Madrid-Waddington Yellow Jackets with the Eastern Division standing in the balance. When the teams came back for the third quarter they would take complete control as they would win the quarter 28-9 and have a 62-30 lead headed into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Saints would not give up the fight and win the last quarter 19-16. Although it would not nearly be enough as the Bulldogs would get the 78-49 victory.
