It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Plattsburgh Hornets at 1-5 would host the Moriah Vikings at 2-0 in their last game before the Christmas break and the Hornets would be looking to build off their first win of the year from over the weekend. The game would start off well for the visiting Vikings as they would have an 18-13 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the teams would stay tight although the Vikings would win the quarter slightly at 10-8 and take a 28-21 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half it would be more of the same for the Vikings as the Hornets would do their best to stay within striking distance with a 14-9 quarter for the Vikings as they would have a 42-30 lead as they went into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the offenses would step up on both sides as the Vikings would win the quarter at 19-12 and secure the 61-42 win. It would be the battle of the Saranac river as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs in CVAC action as both teams were looking to get their first win of the season. The first quarter would definitely be a feeling-out period as it would be locked up at eight at the end of the first quarter. Although in the second quarter the Chiefs would start to find their stride as they would go on a 16-4 run for the quarter and take a 24-12 lead into the locker room. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Hornets would try their best to get back in the game with a run of their own in the quarter with a 15-8 quarter and trail 32-27 into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would get back on track and hold the Hornets in check with an 11-10 quarter and secure the 43-37 victory. In the winning effort, Sebastian Dandrow-Pellerin would lead the way with 11 points as the Chiefs gets their first win of the season. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would take on crosstown rival the Beekmantown Eagles to get the home portion of their 2022-23 season underway and would like to right the ship as they lose the first couple on the road to start the season as for the Eagles they would come in 1-0. The game would start off tight as the Eagles would have a slim 16-12 lead after the game's first eight minutes. In the second quarter, the game would stay tight and the Hornets would fight to stay in the game as the Eagles would win the quarter 16-14 and take a 32-26 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles came out firing and it looked like the Hornets were having issues getting the game going again as the Eagles would win the third 20-12 and take the 52-38 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would stay on the gas and win the quarter 16-9 to secure the 68-47 win. #5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #2 Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball Class B Championship March 5th 2022

Northeastern Clinton's Darren Dubois (23) soars over a group of Plattsburgh Hornets defenders on the mid-range jumper. It would be the last Section VII championship of the weekend as the upset-minded #5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would do battle with the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets. The Cinderella season would like would continue for the Cougars as they would have the 15-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets offense would come alive with an 18-10 quarter and have a 29-25 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the offense would stay hot as they would put together a 20-11 quarter and take the 49-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Hornets would put the final touches on the game with a 16-8 quarter and secure the 66-44 victory and the 2022 Section VII Class B championship. With the win, the Plattsburgh Hornets will enter the NYSPHSAA Class B Tournament and will advance to the quarterfinals on March 12th against the winner of the sections x and ii winners. With the loss, the dream season for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars comes to an end at 9-14. Gallery

Beekmantown's Austin Dosier (31) with the save as Plattsburgh Hayden Colburn (20) comes crashing into the net as part of a 15 save night for the shutout win. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference between crosstown foes as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Beekmantown Eagles at the Ameri-can Arena. It would be a hard-hitting affair from the beginning and with that, the Eagles would get on the board first at the 12:15 mark of the first period on the Luke Moser goal. The game would stay there till the last 45 seconds period when Zachary LaPier would break in and score to extend the lead to 2-0. When the teams return for the second period it would be more of the same with the lone goal of the period coming from Quinn Brandell with 4:02 left to make it a 3-0 Eagles lead/ In the third period the Eagles would keep up the pressure and extend the lead to 4-0 at the 11:10 mark on the DJ Gonyo goal. Then to leave no doubt in the outcome they would add one more from James Burnham with under three minutes left to secure the 5-0 win and in that winning effort, Austin Dosier would stop all 15 shots for the shutout victory.
