Plattsburgh State' Bri Brousseau would lead come in on the breakaway and lay in for two of her game high six points. It would be the opening night of the 2022-23 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Basketball as they would take fellow north country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights. It would start off tight but the Cardinals would have the slim lead after the first quarter with a 15-11 quarter. In the second quarter the game would stay the same with the Cardinals winning the quarter by a 16-14 margin and take a 31-25 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Golden Knights would keep up the fight to keep the game close and even cut into the defecit with a 22-18 quarter to 49-47 Cardinals as they head to the last quarter. In that final stanza the game couldn't get any closer as it would be a 12-12 quarter and the Cardinals would hold onto to the 61-59 victory. With the win the Cardinals would get there season started off right as they go to 1-0 and Bri Brousseau would lead the way with a 16 point night as the Golden Knights fall to 0-1 on the season.
