Plattsburgh's Bostyn Duquette (4) slides under the tag at second base with the stolen base. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars at the first game at the new baseball field as part of the Plattsburgh High School Athletic Complex. The game would start off good for the home Hornets as they would get two runs thanks to Duquette and Trombley. Then in the second inning, the Hornets would add another run because of an error as the Hornets extend their lead to 3-0. Then in the fourth inning, the Hornets would add another run thanks to a rbi single and take the 4-0 lead. In the fourth inning, the Cougars would get on the board on the sacrifice fly by Ebersol for a 4-1 game. Although in the bottom of the fourth the Hornets retake their four-run on the sac fly by Bostyn Duquette for the 5-1 game. Then in the fifth inning, the Hornets would add two more runs thanks to the king's hit for the 7-1 lead. Then in the sixth inning, the Hornets would blow the game wide open as they would explode for a nine-run inning highlighted by a pair of extra-base hits by Trombley and King as they would make it a 16-1 game and that's where the game would finish up. With the win, the Hornets get their season started off right at 1-0 while the Cougars are still looking for a win as they are 0-2. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Lent with the backhanded stop in the whole to save a hit. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be back in action Monday, April 4th for their 4th game in four days as they would take on the SUNY Poly Wildcats in non-conference action. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as Melfi would have the rbi double for the 1-0 lead after one. The Cardinals would stay hot in the second with three more runs highlighted by an error that would score two cardinals for the 4-0 lead. The Wildcats would get on the board in third thanks to a Cardinals error. The Cardinals would get a solo run in the third on Wein rbi single for the 5-1 lead. In the fourth inning, the Cardinals would break the game wide open with a six-run inning highlighted again by Wein this time with a 2 rbi hit, and have an 11-1 lead. In the sixth inning, the teams would trade a pair of runs both coming by the way of the wild pitch for a 12-2 game. The Wildcats would get another run in the seventh on the rbi double by Montrose for the 12-3 game. In the eighth inning, the Cardinals would get two more runs to end the scoring for the night on a pair of rbi singles by Roman and Cergol for the 14-3 victory. In the winning effort, Mordecki would get credit for the win going five innings giving up 1 run on four hits while striking out four as the Cardinals go to 9-6 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Kyle Cremin (20) with the backhanded stop and flip to second for the out, The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up their home portion of their schedule with a non-conference doubleheader against the Canton Kangaroos at Chip Cummings Field. The first game would start off slow as there would be no scoring til the 4th inning when the Kangaroos would get on the board with a home run by Miner for the 1-0 lead. Although the Cardinals would answer back in the bottom, of the inning with a 6 run explosion highlighted by a two rbi triple by Lent for the 6-1 game. Although Canton would work their way back into the game with a three-run fifth inning. But in the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals would take control of the game with a nine-run inning highlighted by a three rbi double by Messersch and a 15-4 lead. Then in the sixth inning, the Cardinals would get three more runs thanks to some Canton errors but an 18-4 lead. In the seventh, the Cardinals would get another four runs to expand the lead to 22-4 highlighted by a pair of rbi singles by Cremin and Digiovanni. The scoring would stop in the eighth innings as the teams would each get 1 run as the Cardinals secure the 23-5 win and go to 7-6 on the season. After a 20 minute break, it would be time for game two of the doubleheader and in the third inning, the Cardinals would get the 1-0 lead on the Geraci hit by a pitch that brought the run-in. In the fourth inning, the Cardinals would expand their lead to 2-0 on the Lent sacrifice fly. In the top of the fifth, the Kangaroos would get on the board with a two rbi single by Kapfer and tie the game. The game would stay there till the sixth when the Cardinals take the lead back at 3-2 on an error. Although the Kangaroos would tie the game again in the top of the seventh on a rbi single by Kapfer. In the bottom of the seventh, the Cardinals would win the game on the walk-off walk for the 4-3 win and secure the sweep, and go to 8-6 on the season. Gallery.
