The Seton Catholic Knights celebrate as they hold off the Wildcat's late charge for the two point win. It would be a contest inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference as the Seton Catholic Knights would host the Schroon Lake Wildcats in Girl's Basketball action. It would be a very physical game from the opening tip, and the Wildcats would have a slim 14-13 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the defenses would regain supreme as the teams would combine for nine points in the quarter and the game would go into the intermission tie at 18. When the teams returned for the second half the Knights would bring their offense to the court and take control of the game with a 10-4 quarter and take the 28-22 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Wildcats would give it their best to get the game back in favor although they would come up short with a 12-8 quarter to give the Seton Catholic Knights the win at 36-34. In the winning effort, the Seton Catholic Knights go to 2-3 while the Schroon Lake Wildcats fall to 1-2. Gallery

It would be a contest inside the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference as the Seton Catholic Knights would host the Schroon Lake Wildcats in Girl's Basketball action. Saranac Chiefs @ Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball December 13th 2022

Saranac's Caswell McCoy (2) with the three from the elbow over an outstretched Hornets defender for the score. It would be the battle of the Saranac river as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs in CVAC action as both teams were looking to get their first win of the season. The first quarter would definitely be a feeling-out period as it would be locked up at eight at the end of the first quarter. Although in the second quarter the Chiefs would start to find their stride as they would go on a 16-4 run for the quarter and take a 24-12 lead into the locker room. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Hornets would try their best to get back in the game with a run of their own in the quarter with a 15-8 quarter and trail 32-27 into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would get back on track and hold the Hornets in check with an 11-10 quarter and secure the 43-37 victory. In the winning effort, Sebastian Dandrow-Pellerin would lead the way with 11 points as the Chiefs gets their first win of the season. As the Hornets would fall to 0-4 on the season and Cayden Williams would all scorers on the night with fifteen points. Gallery

It would be the battle of the Saranac river as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs in CVAC action as both teams were looking to get their first win of the season. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrate as Bennett Stockdale gets the game-winner with a minute left in the game. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would finish off the home portion of their 2022 season with a SUNYAC game against the Morrisville State Mustangs on the 3rd annual teddy bear toss night with 1750 fans in attendance. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game from Carson Gallagher at the 11:24 mark of the first period and the throwing of the bears would insure. That is where the game would stay til the 3:54 mark of the second when the Cardinals would score again from Mitchell Hale to take the 2-0 lead. Then just three minutes later the Cardinals would extend the lead to 3-0 on the Jake Lanyi goal. Although just twenty seconds later the Mustangs would get on the board with a Trevor Neumann goal and make it a 3-1 game. That is where the game would stay till the first minute of the third period when Jestin Somero would score for the Mustangs to make it a 3-2 game for the third. The Mustangs wouldn't give up and would tie the game halfway through the period with Trevor Neumann on his second goal of the game. Although the home Cardinals would keep peppering the Mustang goalie and would break down the wall with 59 seconds left in the game to get the game-winner from Bennett Stockdale and give the Cardinals the 4-3 win. In the winning effort, Elli Shiller would make 16 saves as they go to 8-3-2 on the season. The Cardinals will be back in action on January 6th as they take part in the Winter Classic with Oswego, Potsdam, and Wentworth. Gallery

The Saranac Chiefs would get their 2022-23 season underway with a nonleague against the Kenmore East Bulldogs from western New York. The Bulldogs would get the scoring started at the 5:34 mark of the first period on the goal by Parker Cerkiewicz and take the 1-0 lead. Although the Chiefs would answer back in the final five minutes of the period with a goal by Zach O'Connell to tie the game at one. Although the Bulldogs would answer back in the final 90 seconds of the period and retake the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the goal by Dylan McDonald. Although the Chiefs would fight and tie the game at two in the closing seconds of the period on a goal by Adrian Barnes. The Bulldogs would come out swinging in the second period and take the 3-2 lead on the Austin Turnbull goal. Although with under five minutes left in the second period the Chiefs would score twice in 15 seconds from Landon Duprey and Brody Macomber and take the 4-3 lead into the third period. Just 3:50 into the third period would fight and tie the game at four on the goal by Troy Normandin. The Chiefs would not give up though and would regain the 5-4 lead with 3:30 left in the game on Zach O'Conell's second goal of the game. Although in the final minute of the game the Chief's defense would collapse and they would give two goals and the Bulldogs would get the 6-5 victory. Next up for the Chiefs would be the Grand Island Vikings as they look to right the ship. While the Kenmore East Bulldogs will go for the sweep on the weekend as they will face off with the Beekmantown Eagles. Gallery

It wouldn't take long for the Eagles to get on the board just 3:34 into the game on a goal by Sam Bingel for the lone goal of the first period. The Eagles would strike again just five minutes into the second period on a goal by Reagan Dudyak. Then in the closing minutes of the period, the Eagles would take control of the game on Sam Bingel's second goal of the game and give the Eagles the 3-0 lead. Then just over a minute into the third period, the Eagles would strike again with Luke Moser's goal. Then the Eagles would finish off the scoring as Keegin Rodier would score twice to close out the period and give them the 6-0 lead. Then with four minutes left in the game, the Vikings would get on the board on Jamie Wright's goal to avoid the shutout and have a 6-1 final.
