The game would start off great for the home Hornets with a 23-8 first quarter. In the second quarter, the Eagles would start to find traction as the Hornets would have an 11-8 but the Hornets would take a 34-16 lead into the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Hornets would keep the foot on the gas and have a 14-9 third and take a 48-25 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would just be too much as they would but the game away with 16-3 quarter and get the 64-28. In the winning effort, the Hornets would get their first win of the season and rise their mark to 1-2 while Chazy Eagles fall to 1-3 on the season. Gallery.

The Cougars would get out to a quick start as they would get two goals in the first two minutes of the game. Then the Hornets would start pulling them back in at the 8:30 mark of the first period on a goal from Andrew Knowles to make it 2-2. Then inside the final 90 seconds of the first, the Hornets would tie the game at two on a powerplay goal by Bostyn Duquette. Then just 38 seconds into the second period Jace Lacey would give the Hornets the lead back at 3-2. Then just about three minutes later the Cougars would claw their way back again and tie it at three on a goal from Benjamin Fredette. Then at the midway point of the period, the Cougars would take the lead again this time from Winfred Simpson. The game would stay there till the 8:42 mark of the third period when Hayden Colburn would score and tie the game at four. The teams would stake the rest of the period and the overtime and nothing changed. So will go down as a tie as the Hornets go to 0-1-1 and the Cougars fall to 0-0-1 on the season. Gallery

#1 Peru Nighthawks Vs #2 Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Class B Championship November 5th 2021

It would be the start of football championship weekend for the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference with the Class B title on the line between the #1 Peru Nighthawks and the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets at the Beekmantown High School. In the classic rivalry between the Peru Nighthawks and Plattsburgh Hornets, the defenses would be the stars of the game for the most part. As the Nighthawks would not get on the board till the 8:53 mark of the second quarter when Landen Duprey would score on the touchdown pass from Zach O'Connell. That is where the score would style through the remainder of the half. The Nighthawks would get their second score of the game from Zach O'Connell with 1:30 left in the third quarter on a one-yard quarterback keeper to make it 14-0 Peru. Then in the final minutes of the game, the Nighthawks would tack on a 41-yard field goal from Keegan Smith to give them the 17-0 victory and the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Championship. With the win, they improve to 6-2 on the season and advance to the NYSPHSAA Tournament and will play the Massena Red Raiders in the opening round while the Plattsburgh Hornets season comes to end at 4-4. The Peru Nighthawks pose for their team photo as they are crowned the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Champions. It would be the start of football championship weekend for the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference with the Class B title on the line between the #1 Peru Nighthawks and the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets at the Beekmantown High School. It would be the last week of the regular season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would host the Plattsburgh Hornets as the teams were tuning up for the playoffs. The Patriots would strike first quickly at the 2:56 mark and take the 6-0 lead on the Nate Doner 6 yard run. That is where the game would stay all the way till the 3:27 mark of the second quarter when the Hornets would hook up with Michael Phillips for a 56-yard pass and catch and the take the lead at 7-6. It was starting to look like that would be the score heading into half until Nate Doner would strike again for a 12-yard receiving touchdown with 39 seconds left and the Patriots would take the 13-7 lead into the break. When the teams came back for the second defenses would be stepping up and the game would remain till the 2:20 mark of the 4th quarter when Ausable Valley's Douglass would have the 46-yard interception for the score and extend their lead to 20-7. Then in the final stages of the game, the Patriots would put the icing on the cake as Nate Doner would strike for the third touchdown of the game and give the Patriots the 27-7 victory. In the winning effort, the Patriots finish of their season at 5-2 and while have a meeting next week with the Ticonderoga Sentinels in the semi-finals of the Section VII Class D Playoffs. As for the Hornets there, the season come to end at 3-4 while they will have the next week off as they will take on the Peru Nighthawks in the Section VII Class B Championship.

Ticonderoga's Braeden Perry (80) broke through the tackle attempt by Plattsburgh's Colin Golden. It would be Week #3 of the Champlain Valley Atheltic Conference season and the Plattsburgh Hornets would be hosting the Ticonderoga Sentinels on what would be early senior night for the Hornets. The Ticonderoga Sentinels would get the quick score and lead as they would run back the opening kick of the game 82 yards for the score thanks to Ayden Smith. Although the Hornets would answer back in a swarm with 33 points in the first quarter with four scores from Trenton Griffiths and one from Michael Phillips as they would have a 33-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets would add to more Braeden McGinnis and Dylan Crowley-Williams as the Hornets would lead 47-6 at the half. When the teams returned for the second half the teams would trade a pair of scores as you could see the Hornets had downshifted for the half scoring for the Hornets would be Colin Golden and Landon Coon while scoring for the Sentinels would be Connor Yaw and Vigliotti. As the Plattsburgh Hornets would hold onto the 60-18 victory and go to 2-2 on the season while the Sentinels go to 0-4 on the season.

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football Week 6 Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Plattsburgh Hornets October 9th 2021

Plattsburgh's Riguelson Filosca (51) steps in front of the receiver for the interception and would return it 57 yards for the touchdown. It would be a rare Monday night game in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Saranac Lake Red Storm would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets to put an end to week 6. The game would be a defensive battle through most of the first half as the Hornets would get the lone score of the half from Trenton Griffiths on a 9 yard run in the closing minute of the half and take the 7-0 lead at the break. As the second half would start the Hornet's defense would stay strong as they would have a 51-yard interception for a score from Riguelson Filosca and extend their lead to 14-0. Then on the next Red Storm drive the Hornets defense would answer again with another interception for a score this time 58 yards and Michael Phillips to take a 21-0 lead. Then at the 3:18 mark of the fourth quarter, the Hornets would put the icing on the cake with a 12 yard run by Trenton Griffiths for his second score of the game. With 4:25 left in the game, the Red Storm would get on the board to avoid the shutout on the Markus Navarra 11 yard touchdown to make it a 27-7 game and that's where the game would end. In the winning effort, the Hornets go to 3-3 on the season and will finish off their season at Ausable Valley. As the Saranac Lake Red Storm falls to 3-3 on their season and will finish at home against Peru.
