The game would start well for the Cardinals as Bennett Stockdale would get the opener with 3:44 left in the period to make it 1-0 and let the return of the tennis ball commence as they would come a flying from the stands. Then riding the surge from the goal just two minutes later the Cardinals would strike on the power play from Carson Gallagher to make it 2-0 cardinals. The Lakers would fight back in the second period and get on the board at the 5:26 mark to make it 2-1 on the Tyler Antonucci goal. Then at the 12:48 mark of the period, the Lakers would get the equalizer from Alex Dicarlo to make it 2-2. That is where the game would stay through the rest of the period and the third and overtime for a 2-2 tie.
