The game would not start well for the home hornets as the Huskies would get the lone goal of the first period. Although in the second period the offenses for both teams would come alive as they would combine for fives goals in the period and be tied at three at the end scoring for the Hornets would be Drew Knowles, Jackson Kain, and Jace Lacey. Then in the third period, they would combine four more goals and stay tied at 5 with goals from Hayden Colburn and Bostyn Duquette sending the teams to overtime. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game at just over a minute into the game from Madore to make it 1-0. Although the Huskies would shake off the rust and get back in the game and tie it up at 1-1 on the St. Mary goal. Then just over two minutes later the Hornets would regain the one-goal lead on the Boule goal and hold the lead to the end of the period. Then halfway through the second period, the Hornets would extend their lead to two goals at 3-1 on the Giroux goal. Then just 16 seconds later the Hornets would extend it to 4-1 on Boule's second goal of the night.
