Endicott's Samantha Fantasia (19) puts the puck in the back of the net for the breakaway game-winner in overtime. It would be the opening of the Cardinal/Panther Classic as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would play host to the #9 Endicott Gulls, The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal of the game at the 10:59 mark of the first period from Emma Killeen for the 1-0 lead. Although the Gulls would have answered back about 90 seconds later as Quin Healy would tie the game up at 1. That is where the game would stay till the 9:28 mark of the second period when the Cardinals would regain the lead at 2-1 on the Sierra Benjamin goal at the 9:28 mark of the second period. Just 40 seconds later the Cardinals would strike again to take the two-goal lead on the Sara Krauseneck goal. Although that would not keep the Gulls from fighting back at they would answer back three minutes later on the powerplay on the Kaylee Liberty goal to make it 3-2. The Gulls would keep fighting and eventually get the equalizer halfway through the third period on Quin Healy's second goal of the night to make it 3-3. That is where the game would stay as they enter the overtime period until Samatha Fantasia would come down on the breakaway and score for the Gulls with 35 seconds left and get the 4-3 Gulls win and ending the Cardinals 44 game home winning streak. In the losing, effort Ashley Davis would make 14 saves as the Cardinals fall to 6-1 on the season. As the Gulls Michaela O'Brien would make 56 saves as they advance to the finals of the Cardinal/Panther Classic and get the winner of the Middlebury and Elmira game. Gallery.

It would be the second game of a weekend doubleheader for the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they were hosting the Morrisville State Mustangs in NEWHL action. The Cardinals would waste little time getting on the board 49 seconds into the game on a backhander from Annie Katonka for the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would expand their lead to 2-0 on a powerplay goal by Kaitlin Drew-Mead at the 7:58 mark of the period. That might be where the scoring stopped in the first period but the Cardinals would explode for four goals in the second period from Mattie Norton, Tatem Cheney, Nicole Unsworth, and Mae Olshansky and take a huge 6-0 lead into the third period. In the third period the Cardinals would not let off the gas as they would score three more times this time from Sara Krausneck, Annie Katonka (2nd of the night), and Mae Olshansky (second of the night) and they would secure the 9-0 win. In the winning effort, Lilla Nease would make 20 saves for their first career shutout as the Cardinals would go to 5-0 on the season. #9 Moriah Vikings Vs Haldane Blue Devils NYSPHSAA Football Class D Quarterfinals November 19th 2021

It would be the Quarterfinals of the NYSPHSAA Class D Football Championships and the #9 Moriah Vikings would take on the Haldane Blue Devils with a trip to the final four on the line from the Ausable Valley High School in Clintonville, NY. The first quarter would be a defensive battle as both teams would be held off the scoreboard. On this cold night, the Vikings would finally break through the ice with a score at the 4:19 mark of the second quarter on a 2 yard run from Caleb Harris for the 8-0 lead after they went for two. Then with 32 seconds left in the half, the Vikings would strike again this time on a 50 yard run from Rowan Swan and they would double their advantage at 16-0 as they would head into the locker rooms. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Vikings would keep their foot down and add another score with 3:30 left in the quarter on the quarterback keeper from the 1-yard line and take the 22-0 lead. From there defense would keep Haldane off the board and secure the 22-0. In the winning effort, the Vikings stay undefeated on the season at 9-0 and will head to Middletown, NY next weekend and take on #4 Greenwich in the final four with a chance to head back to the dome for a state title the first week in December. Cobleskill Tigers @ Potsdam State Bears November 13th 2021 Women's NCAA Women's Basketball Cardinal Classic Day #2

It would be the first game of the second day of the Cardinal Classic and would feature the Potsdam State Bears and the Cobleskill Tigers. The game would start well for the Bears as they jump out to the 15-10 lead. In the second quarter, the Tigers would fight back and take the slim 24-23 lead at the half with a 14-8 quarter. When the teams came back for the second half the Tigers would stay hot as they would extend their lead to 44-38 with a 20-15 quarter. Although in the fourth quarter the Bears would catch fire with a 23-11 quarter and pull out the win at the end with a 61-55 win. In the winning effort, Xyel Bradford would lead the way with 11 points as the Bears go to 2-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Kara Oatman with three attempts from the corner. It would be day 2 of the Cardinal Classic as the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals would take on the Norwich Cadets. The game would start off slow as the defenses would be on their game as the Cadets would have the low 14-10 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the defenses would stay up as the Cardinals would win it 10-5 and have the 20-19 lead at the half. When the teams came back for the third quarter so did the Cardinals offense as they would explode for a 29-6 quarter and take a 49-25 lead. In the fourth quarter, they would just let it ride and win the quarter 20-19 and secure the 69-44 win. In the winning effort, Mya Smith would lead the way with 16 points as they go to 3-1 on the season and Norwich remains winless in the early season. Gallery

Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #10 Ogdensburg Blue Devils NYSPHSAA Football Class C First Round November 13th 2021

Saranac Lake's Connor Hewitt (23) backs his way into the endzone as he is being tackled by the Ogdensburg defender. It would be the opening round of the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament between the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Ogdensburg Blue Devils at Plattsburgh High School. The Red Storm would come out and get the opening score of the game at the 4:01 mark of the first quarter on a 2 yard run from Conor Hewitt. Although the Blue Devils would have answered at the 7:01 mark on a one-yard run by Tristan Lovely to tie the game at seven. Saranac Lake would fight back and take the lead back on a second Conor Hewitt touchdown from 19 yards to make it 14-8 at the 3:33 mark of the second quarter. Then at the midway mark of the second quarter, the Blue Devils would strike back on a ten-yard pass to Justice McIntrye to tie the game at 14 as they would head into the half. The game would stay there till the last minute of the third quarter when the Blue Devils would score on a 16 yard run by Andrew Loffler and the two-point conversion to make it 22-14 Blue Devils. Then in the final two minutes of the game, the Blue Devils would put the game out of reach on a 61 yard run by Drew Costello and secure the 28-14 win, and advance to the quarterfinals weekend.
