It would be senior day for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would host the Oneonta State Red Dragons in the last game of the season. The game would start off close as the Cardinals were looking to end the season on a high note as they would trail 19-14 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would do there best to keep the game close as they would lose the quarter 16-14 and trail 35-28 at the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Red Dragons would pull away a bit more with an 18-14 quarter and have a 53-42 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, it would be the status quo as the Red Dragons would win the quarter by a slim 17-16 for the 70-58 win. In the losing effort, Plattsburgh State's Taylor Durnin would lead the team with 13 points as the Cardinals finish the season at 7-18. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Taylor Durnin (10) keeps control of the ball and the play from the knee in a battle of keep away. The Plattsburgh State women's basketball team had a tough night on the court against a SUNYAC-leading foe from New Paltz. In a game in which they never held a lead, the Cardinals couldn't hold back the New Paltz offense and lost by a final score of 73-45 at Memorial Hall. After the Hawks opened the scoring with a three-pointer by Marion Dietz, Plattsburgh's Taylor Durnin equalized nearly two minutes later in the low-scoring first quarter for both teams. The teams exchanged field goals just after the midpoint of the quarter, but 5-5 would be the last time the game was tied. New Paltz controlled the scoreboard from then on. Trailing by seven at the halftime buzzer, the Cardinals saw things turn from bad to worse in the third period. Two separate six-point runs by the Hawks, each lasting more than three minutes, allowed the visitors to build a commanding lead. The final 28-point margin was the result of a fourth-quarter even more dominant than the third for New Paltz, who outscored the host team 23-11 in the final frame. Individually, a balanced offense for the Hawks saw three different players hit double-digit points, with three more having 8 or 9, while Durnin's 10-point night was the only double-digit performance for the Cardinals. It would be a midweek affair between the Potsdam State Bears and Plattsburgh State Cardinals at Memorial Hall in SUNYAC play. The game would be tight through the first quarter and the home Cardinals would trail 23-21 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would come back and take a two-point lead after a 22-18 for a 43-41 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second quarter it would not fair well for the Cardinals as they would lose the quarter 18-8 and trail 59-51 as the headed into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would do there best to get back in the game but it comes up short as they win the quarter 15-10 but lose the game 69-66. In the losing effort, Hanna Whitney would lead the way with 19 points as the Cardinals fall to 6-13 on the season and will return to action Friday night against Fredonia State. Gallery.

When the teams return for the second half the Cardinals would some adjustments in the locker room and would win the quarter 27-18 although they would still trail 50-44. Plattsburgh State's Mya Smith (11) with the deep ball with the defender in her face as part of a nine-point night. The Plattsburgh State women’s basketball team returned to SUNYAC action Friday, facing SUNY Geneseo at Memorial Hall and falling by a final score of 66-54. A strong second-half performance, particularly in the fourth quarter, was not enough to overcome a slow start for the Cardinals. Geneseo got on the board first in the first minute of the game before Taylor Clare scored a jumper to tie the game at 2-2. Only 80 seconds into the game, however, a free throw by Lauren Romito gave the Knights a lead that they would never surrender. Geneseo led 24-14 after the first quarter and pulled away in the second as Plattsburgh shot 0-for-18 in the quarter. With Geneseo up by 21 points at halftime, the Cardinals faced an uphill battle to get back into the game. While they did outscore the Knights in both the third and fourth quarters, the final margin of 12 points was the closest score of the second half. The Knights were paced by Romito’s double-double performance, with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Kerrin Montgomery led with 17 points. For the home team, Ly’rell Walker scored 15 points and Taylor Clare scores 12 and collected 10 rebounds for her own double-double in the loss. Gallery.
