#1 Quinnipiac Bobcats Vs #3 Harvard Crimson ECAC Hockey Division 1 Men's Hockey Finals March 18th 2022

Harvard's Mitchell Gibson (44) with the glove save as he being screened in front as part of 47 save the night. It would be the finals of the ECAC Men's Hockey Championship from the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4400 fans for the first time since the covid-19 pandemic had started and it would feature the #1 Quinnipiac Bobcats and #3 Harvard Crimson. The upset-minded Crimson knew the only way they were headed to the NCAA was with a win go off to a quick start on a goal just 1:07 into the game from Ryan Siedem for the early lead. Although the Bobcats would not let the Crimson have the lead long as they would tie the game up at one on the TJ Friedmann goal at the 5:24 mark of the period. The game would stay there till the 9:24 mark of the second period on the powerplay goal from Ian Moore. The game would remain through the rest of the second period and most of the third period until there was 6:16 left in the game the Bobcats would tie the game up on the powerplay goal from Jayden Lee and eventually send the game to overtime. In the overtime, the Crimson would get the game-winner at the 9:18 mark from Matthew Coronato to secure the 3-2 victory and the automatic qualifier spot for the ECAC Hockey. In the winning effort, Matthew Gibson would make 47 saves as they will now head to the NCAA Tournament against Minnesota State while Quinnipiac's Yaniv Perets would make 14 saves but still get the invite to the NCAA Tournament and will take on St. Cloud State. #2 Clarkson Golden Knights Vs #3 Harvard Crimson ECAC Hockey Division 1 Men's Hockey Semi-finals March 18th 2022

Clarkson's Ethan Haider (47) extends the pad out for the save on the Harvard shot in close as part of a 29 save effort. It would be semi-final game number 2 and #2 Clarkson Golden Knights would take on the #3 Harvard Crimson as the Knights would look to retain their title in Lake Placid as they won the last tournament before the shutdown of Covid-19 back in 2019. The game would start off good for the upset minded Crimson as they would get the opening goal from Sean Farrell at the 8:20 mark of the first period. Although the Knights would not end the period quietly as they would get the equalizer with just over five minutes left in the period on the Alex Campbell powerplay goal. The game would stay there till the 10:59 mark of the second period when the Crimson would regain the lead at 2-1 on the Nick Abruzzese goal. Although the Golden Knights would tie the game back up again just two minutes later on the goal by Alex Campbell for the second time on the night and both on the powerplay. Then with just over three minutes left in the period the Golden Knights would get there first lead of the game on the Zach Tsekos goal and make it 3-2 Golden Knights leaded headed to the third period. Although the lead would be short lived as the Crimson would tie game up at the 4:23 mark of the period on Nick Abruzzeses second goal of the game. Then with just under five minutes left in the game the Crimson would take the lead for the third and final time on the night on the Matthew Coronato goal at 4-3 and would also add the empty netter in the closing seconds of the game. In the winning effort the Harvard Crimson advance to the ECAC Hockey Championship against the #1 Quinnipiac Bobcats and Mitchell Gibson would make 24 saves on the night while Clarkson's Ethan Haider would make 29 saves in the losing effort. #1 Quinnipiac Bobcats Vs #5 Colgate Red Raiders ECAC Hockey Division 1 Men's Hockey Semi-finals March 18th 2022

Colgate's Ben Raymond (18) would come down on the breakaway and put the shot on Quinnipiac's Yaniv Perets and Griffin Lunn (12) would come in and put the rebound away for the goal. it would be the return of the ECAC Men's Hockey championships after a 2-year break because of the Covid-19 pandemic to Lake Placid and the Herb Brooks Arena and the fans would welcome them back with 4200 in attendance. The first semi-final of the day would feature the #1 Quinnipiac Bobcats and the #5 Colgate Red Raiders with the winner looking to play for a title on Saturday night. The game would start of good for top seeded bobcats as they would get the opening goal of the game at the 9:23 mark of the first period on the powerplay from Joey Cipollone for the 1-0 lead. The Bobcats would expand their lead to 2-0 with 3:17 left in the first period on the goal by Michael Lombardi as they would end the first period. Although the Red Raiders would come out in the second period and looking to get back in the game and they would on the Griffin Lunn goal just 4:13 into the period. Although that would be the only goal of the period and the Bobcats would hold the 2-1 lead as the second period would come to an end. The teams would go back and forth in the third period and just about halfway through the third period the Bobcats would regain the two-goal lead at 3-1 on the Wyatt Bongiovanni. From there the Bobcats would clamp down on the defense and hold on for the 3-1 win. In the winning effort Quinnipiac's Yaniv Perets would make saves on the night as they head back to the ECAC Championship against the winner of Clarkson and Harvard while Colgate's Mitch Benson would make 30 saves in the loss. It would be the last game of the regular season and the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be in a must-win situation as they hosted the Morrisville State Mustangs in the second game of the weekend series if they wanted to make the playoffs. With that being said the home fans would come out in force to root on the Cardinals as 1500 would pack the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. Although the game would not start off good for the Cardinals as the Mustangs would get the opening goal of the game just 5:34 into the first period from Christian Vella. The game would remain there all the way till the 5th minute of the second period when the Cardinals would get on the broad to tie the game at 1 on the Mitchell Hale goal. Then in the final three minutes of the second, the Cardinals would take the lead at 2-1 on the Liam Lawson goal. Then just 33 seconds into the third period the Cardinals would extend there lead to 3-1 on the Joe Kile goal. Then in the 11th minute, the Cardinals would start to salt the game away as Andrew Pizzo would score to make it a 4-1 lead. Then with under four minutes left in the game, the Cardinals would put the final touches on the win with the Christian Dahl goal for the 5-1 win. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would secure there spot in the playoffs as they get the #5 seed and will play the Brockport State Golden Eagles in the opening round of the SUNYAC playoffs. It would be the last weekend of the regular season and the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the first of a pair of games against the Morrisville State Mustangs as they fight for there playoff lives. It would not start off good for the Cardinals though as the visiting Mustangs would strike first just 19 seconds into the game on a goal by James Boisvert for the one 1-0. Although the Cardinals would answer back with a pair of goals from Matt Araujo and Hunter Alden and the 2-1 lead into the intermission. In the second period though the teams would combine for 5 goals as the Cardinals would take a 6-2 lead with goals from Mike Falangana, Adam Tretowicz (twice) and Joe Drabin. In the third period, the Cardinals would add to more goals from Hunter Alden (second of the night) and Brendan Young as they cruise to the 8-2 win. In the winning effort, Johnny Poreda would make 26 saves as the Cardinals go to 8-13-2 on the season and keep the playoffs alive. They are right back at it tomorrow night against the same Morrisville State Mustangs as they battle for the playoffs. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC Men's Hockey action in front of 1300 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as the Red Dragons would take the early 1-0 lead three minutes into the game on the Doug Eglstram goal. Then just over four minutes later at the 7:42 mark of period the Red Dragons would extend there lead to 2-0 on the goal by Doug Eglstram his second of the night. The game would stay there till the 12:44 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would strike again on the Shane Beaulieu goal to make it 3-0. The Cardinals would finally get on the broad just over 30 seconds later when Brandon Young would score to make it a 3-1 game. Then on the powerplay at the 16-minute mark, the Cardinals would strike again this time from Cullen Kane for his first goal as a Cardinal. The game would remain a one-goal till the 2:28 mark of the third when Doug Eglstram would get his hat trick goal and take the two-goal lead back. The game would stay there till the 11-minute mark of the third when Cullen Kane would strike again and make it a 4-3 game. Then just 12 seconds later the comeback would be complete when Andrew Pizzo would score off the face-off and we would have a 4-4 game. The game would change in the weirdest way with just under five minutes when Stefano Alzoni was trying to dump the puck down the ice Brandon Wells would try and catch it and it would bounce off his glove and end up in the net and that would end up being the winning foal as the Cardinals fall 5-4. In the losing effort, the Cardinals would combine for 20 saves as they fall to 6-11-3 on the season.Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Ryan Kuhn (16) would score on the scramble play late in the third period to make it 3-2. The classic rivalry would be renewed as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC Men's Hockey in front of 1800 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The rival Lakers would get the opening goal of the game at the 17:37 mark on the powerplay from Alex DiCarlo for the 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would fight right back an answer with the tying goal 40 seconds later from Brendan Young. The Lakers would regain the lead at 2-1 five minutes into the second period on Josh Zisek goal. The Lakers would extend there lead to 3-1 on the second Alex DiCarlo powerplay goal of the game with under 5 minutes left in the second. The game would stay there till 2:15 left in the game when the Cardinals Ryan Kuhn would score to make it a 3-2 and have a game at the end. Although thirty seconds later the Lakers would answer with an empty netter from Michael Gilleseppe for the 4-2 Lakers win. In the losing effort, Jimy Poreda would make 19 saves as the Cardinals fall to 6-10-3 on the season. Gallery
