The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host SUNYAC foe Buffalo State at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena in front of 1500 fans. The game would remain scoreless through the first period. The Cardinal would eventual take the 1-0 lead on the Joe Drabin goal at the 9:10 mark of the period. The Cardinals would be able to expand the lead to 2-0 four minutes later on the goal by Rich McCartney. From that point on the Cardinals would go into defensive mode and get the 2-0 win. #3 Cornell Big Red @ #7 Clarkson Golden Knights - ECAC Men's Hockey - November 15th 2019

Clarkson's Connor McCarthy (2) with sniper over the pad for the goal. It would be a rematch of last years ECAC Championship as the #7 Clarkson Golden Knights host the #3 Cornell Big Red in a early season tilt in front of 2900 fans. The teams would be evenly matched throughout the game as the first goal would come at the 11:15 mark when Travis Mitchell would give the Big Red the 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later the Big Red would strike again to double the lead at 2-0 on the Jeff Mallott goal. Then at the fifteen minute mark of the second period the Knights would get on the board and cut the deficit in half on the Connor McCrarthy powerplay goal. Then with just under two minutes Clarkson's Devin Brosseau would get the game tying goal. The Big Red would retake the lead at 3-2 halfway through the third period on the Cam Donaldson goal. Then in the final couple minutes the Big Red would get the empty netter to secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort the Cornell Big Red go to 5-0 while Golden Knights go to 7-3-1 on the season. Fredonia State @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals - SUNYAC Men's Hockey - November 15th 2019

Plattsburgh State's Phillip Middleton (4) chases down the loose puck. Coming off their first win of the season, the Plattsburgh State Cardinals returned home to the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena Friday and skated to a 1-1 tie with the Blue Devils of SUNY Fredonia. The Cardinals appeared to get on the board midway through the first period, when junior Liam Lawson chased down the puck behind the Fredonia net and fed it out in front to sophomore defenseman Matt Araujo, who buried it with a one-timer. The goal was waved off, however, when officials ruled that Fredonia goaltender Anton Rosen had been interfered with on the play.The Blue Devils officially opened the scoring a few minutes later with a Victor Tracy goal past Plattsburgh goaltender Jimmy Poreda. The Cardinals responded to the goal quickly, and Araujo got his goal back three minutes later, skating around Fredonia defenseman Max Blitz to get a shot from the face-off circle.Those first-period tallies proved to be the only scores of the game, as Rosen made 45 saves on the night to keep the Cardinals from gaining the lead. Poreda made 24 saves in net for the home team.A scrum 11 seconds into the overtime period after Plattsburgh's Mitchell Hale hit Rosen behind the net resulted in 4-on-4 hockey for two minutes, and bench minor for too many players gave Plattsburgh a full power-play in the latter stages of the extra frame, but the Blue Devils restricted the Cardinals to just one shot in overtime, as Plattsburgh's powerplay went 0-for-6 in the tie game. Worcester Railers @ Adirondack Thunder - ECHL Hockey - November 10th 2019

Adirondack's James Henry (15) with the crunching hit along the end boards on Worcester's defender. It would be a matchup in the northern division of the ECHL with the Adirondack Thunder hosting the Worcester Railers on Marvel night as the teams had special jerseys for the night. The Thunder would get the opening goal of the game from Ara Nazarian at the 3:49 mark of the period. The Thunder would then score again at the 6:30 mark of the period on the Alexandre Carrier to make it a 2-0 game. That is where the game would stay til the 11:48 mark of the second when Worcester would get on the board with a goal by Cody Payne to make it 2-1. Although the one goal lead would short lived as the Thunder would score a minute and thity later on the Mike Szmatula goal to make it 3-1. The game would stay there til the 7:28 mark of the third period when Mike Salhany would score to make it 4-1. Although the railers would answer back 30 seconds later on a Matt Schmalz goal to make it 4-2. Then the Thunder would get a couple goals in the final couple minutes from Connor Riley and Ara Nazarian to secure the 6-2 victory. In the winning effort Ara Nazarian would have two goals and Evan Cormier would make 32 saves as the Thunder get the 6-2 win. In the winning effort the Thunder go to 6-4-2 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Liam Lawson (39) slides in beating defense and taking the goalie on one on one. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Geneseo State in SUNYAC Hockey action. The game would take til half way through the second period for the first goal of the game. The Knights would break the ice and take the lead 1-0 at the ten minute mark of the second period on the Chris Perna power play goal. The Cardinals would fight back and tie the game up at one a minute and half into the third period by Matt Arajuo. The game would stay there through regulation and head to overtime. In the overtime the Knights would get the game winner on the Tyson Empsey and the Cardinals would fall 2-1. In the losing effort Jimmy Poreda would make 22 saves as the Cardinals start the season at 0-2. Gallery

Brockport State Golden Eagles @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals - SUNYAC Men's Hockey - November 1st 2019

Plattsburgh State's Mitchell Hale (26) carries the puck into the zone and start the attack. It would be the season opener and start of a new era for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in the season opener and first game with Steve Moffitt behind the bench. The game would be scoreless through the first period and the Eagles would get the first goal by Doc Gentzler at 1:14 of the second period on the power play. The Cardinals would respond back and tie the game at one about five minutes later on the Matt Araujo goal. Although not even a minute later the Cardinals would regain the one goal lead on the Ethan Solat goal. Then the Eagles would extend there lead to 3-1 at the 10:40 mark of the second period on the goal by Mitchell Parson. That would be the last of the scoring on the night and the Cardinals would fall 3-1 in the first game of the season. In the losing effort Jimmy Perodea would make 15 saves as they fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery

Vermont Catamounts @ #10 Clarkson Golden Knights - NCAA Men's Hockey - October 18th 2019

Vermont's Stefanos Lekkas (40) with the stick save on Clarkson's Anthony Callin (44) crossing in front. It would be the Clarkson Golden Knights hosting the Vermont Catamounts in the home opener at Cheel arena. The game would would take a while to get going as the game would still be scoreless after the first period. The Golden Knights would take the 1-0 lead 6:43 into second period when Zach Tsekos would score on the power play to make it 1-0. The Catamounts would fight there way back and tie the game up at 1 at the 12 minute mark of the period on the Joey Cipollone goal. We would go to the third tied but the Catamounts would take the lead 2-1 quickly into the period on the Christian Evers goal. The Golden Knights would give up though as they would tie the game up at the ten minute mark when Zach Tsekos gets his second of the night. The Golden Knights would regain the lead 3-2 on Zach Tsekos third goal of the night. From there the Golden Knights would hold on for the win. In the winning effort Frank Marotte would make 31 saves as the Golden Knights go to 2-0-1 while the Catamounts fall to 0-1. Gallery

Adirondack Thunder Vs Worcester Railers - ECHL Hockey - April 7th 2019

Adirondack's Desmond (37) with the check of the Railers offense man and knock him off the puck. The Adirondack Thunder would host the Worcester Railers in the season finale of the East Coast Hockey League. The Thunder would get the first goal of the game halfway through the first period on the goal by John Edwards. The game would stay there til the 2:35 of mark of the second when the Railers would tie the game at one and then eventually take the 2-1 lead at 7:25 of the period. The Thunder come right back and tie the game up a minute later and John Edwards gets his second goal of the game. The Railers would not give up and tie the game back up halfway through the period at 3-2 and take that into the third period. The Thunder would tie the game up at three just three minutes into the third period on the James Henry goal. Then just 90 seconds later Matt Salhany would score to give the Thunder the 4-3 lead. The lead would last til the last 90 seconds when the Railers would score with the extra man to force overtime. In the overtime it would not be the Thunders game as Railers would score two minutes in as the Thunder would fall 4-3 in overtime. In the losing effort the Thunder would lock up the second seed in the ECHL playoffs and host the Manchester Monarchs. Gallery

#2 Cornell Big Red Vs #3 Clarkson Golden Knights - ECAC Championships Finals - March 23rd 2019

game winner

Clarkson's Chris Klack (8) with the rebound off the Cornell goalie for the championship winner. The 2019 ECAC Hockey Championships Finals would come down to #2 Cornell Big Red and the #3 Clarkson Golden Knights and also would be a pair of top ten teams in the country vying for the conference automatic bid into the NCAA Championship at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid in front of 5700 fans. The Big Red would get the important first goal of the game from Noah Bauld at the 7:29 mark of the first period. Although in a matter four minutes between period the twelve and sixteen minute mark of the first period Devin Brosseau would get two powerplay goals and give the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead after the first period. The game would remain there for the longest time as both teams were very evenly matched. Although with just under six minutes left in the game the Big Red tie the game up on the Tristan Mullin goal and would be enough to send the game to overtime. In that overtime period it was starting to look like we might be heading for a second overtime until Chris Klack would knock in the rebound and give the Clarkson Golden Knights 2019 ECAC Championship for the first time sense 2007. In the winning effort Jake Keilly would make 29 saves as the Clarkson Golden Knights head to the NCAA Tournament. Gallery

#3 Clarkson Golden Knights Vs #4 Harvard Crimson - ECAC Championships Semi-Finals - March 22nd 2019

The #3 Clarkson Golden Knights would meet up with the #4 Harvard Crimson in the semi-finals of the ECAC Championships demi-finals at the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4800 people, The Golden Knights would open up the scoring just 2:30 into the game on the Haralds Eagle goal. Then just over three minutes later the Knights would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Anthony Callin goal. The game would stay there till the thirteen minute mark when the Golden Knights would score again this time from Nicco Strum for the 3-0 lead. The Crimson would answer right back a minute later on the Adam Fox goal to make it 3-1. Then just over a minute into the third period Harvard's Jack Rathbone would score to make it a 3-2. Although the Golden Knights were having nothing of it as they scored twice from Jack Jacome and Jordan Schneider to secure the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort Jake Keily would make 26 saves as the Golden Knights advance to the finals of the ECAC Championship against the #2 Cornell Big Red. Gallery
