Beekmantown's Kaden Myers (2) with the catch on the swing pass as he is taken down by Potsdam's Dustin Agen. It would be the first round of the New York State Class B Football championships and would feature the Beekmantown Eagles and the Potsdam Sandstoners. It would take til near the end of the first quarter when we would get the first score of the game from Potsdam's Will Varney on a 1 yard run with a 1:40 left and make it 6-0. The Sandstoners would strike again 11 seconds later after they recovered the onside kick and scoring on a 40 yard run to make it 12-0. Then with 1:40 left in the first half the Sandstoners Will Varney would score again on a 2 yard run to make it 18-0 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would still not have answer for the Sandstoners. In the third quarter the Sandstoners would score two more times in the third quarter one by Will Varney and Bobby Voss for the 30-0 Sandstoners win. In the winning effort the Potsdam Sandstoners go to 8-2 and advance to the quarterfinals while the Beekmantown Eagles season comes to an end 6-3. Gallery

#1 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels - New York State Section VII Class D Championship - November 4th 2019

Fends Off Defender

Moriah's Braden Swan (32) fends off Ticonderoga's Owen Stonitsch (24) on the cutback. It would be the annual match up in the Section VII Class D championship. As the #1 Moriah Vikings would play the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels. The Vikings would take the 8-0 lead at the 3:28 mark of the first quarter with a Maddox Blaise 2 yard run. The game would stay there the first play of the second quarter when Maddox Blaise gets a 3 yard run to make it 14-0 vikings. Then on the next drive the Vikings would score his first of the night on a 13 yard run at 3:41 of the second quarter and take the 22-0 lead into the half. When the teams came out for the second half it would be more of the same as the Vikings would get two more touchdowns coming from Braden Swan and Todd Malbon for the 34-0 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings go to 6-3 and to the New York State Class D Playoffs as the Ticonderoga Sentinels season comes to end at 1-8. Gallery

#3 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #1 Beekmantown Eagles - New York State Section VII Class B Championship - November 2nd 2019

Beekmantown's Andrew Vannatten (25) puts the hand up and breakup the pass intended for Plattsburgh's Kyle LaValley (8). It would be a battle of crosstown rivals as the Beekmantown Eagles matchup with the Plattsburgh Hornets in the Section VII Class B Championships. The Hornets would take the 7-0 lead 4 minutes into the game on a 4 yard run by Ian Detuello. The Eagles would fight back to tie the game up at 7 on nine yard run by Kaden Myers two minutes into the second quarter. The Eagles would take the 14-7 lead 3 minutes into the third quarter on Kaden Myers 49 yard run. The Hornets would tie the game back up at 14 on a 54 yard pass to Ian Detulleo at the six minute mark of the third quarter. The Eagles would regain the lead at 21-13 as Kaden Myers would score for the third time on six yard run with three minutes left in the third quarter. The Hornets would answer right back with a nine yard run by Ian Detuello for his third score of the game at 21-19 with a minute left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter though the Eagles would put the game away with two scores by Dave Dion and Kaden Myers to secure the 34-19. In the winning effort the Beekmantown Eagles go to 6-2 and have a matchup with the Potsdam Sandstoners in the New York State High School Class B Playoffs while the Hornets season comes to end at 4-5. #2 Saranac Lake Red Storm Vs #1 Ausable Valley Patriots - New York State Section VII Class C Semi-Finals - November 2nd 2019

Saranac Lake's Ben Munn (2) flies into the endzone over Ausable Valley's defender for the score It would be a matchup between the Saranac Lake Red Storm and the Ausable Valley Patriots for the Section VII Class C Championship. The Patriots would strike first and quick as they would Luis Perez on 73 yard pass just 20 seconds into the game for the 8-0 lead. The Red Storm would strike right back in under a minute on a 1 yard run by Rhett Darrah to make it 8-6 2 minutes into the game. Then with 39 seconds left in the first quarter the Red Storm would score on a 84 yard pass to Jeffrey Lavair to make it 12-8 Red Storm. The Patriots would strike right back 19 seconds into the second quarter on 69 yard pass to Nate Doner to make it 14-12. Then five minutes into the quarter the Red Storm would regain the lead at 18-14 on a 28 yard pass to Jeffrey Lavair. Although Patriots would answer right back in thirty seconds on a 54 yard pass to Eli Douglas to make it 20-18 at the half. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Red Storm would regain the lead at 24-20 on a 20 yard pass to Jeffrey Lavair. Then four minutes into the fourth quarter the Red Storm would extend there lead to 31-20 on a one yard run by Ben Munn. Although the Patriots would make a game of down the stretch as as they would hit Eli Douglas on a 45 yard pass with 6 minutes left to make it 31-26. From there though the Saranac Red Storm would hold on for the Section VII Class C title and advance to the New York State Class C Playoffs and take on the Gouvenour Wildcats. Gallery

It would be the Saranac Chiefs traveling to Saranac Lake and taking on the Red Storm in the New York State Class C Semi-finals. The Red Storms would get the first score of the game on a 78 yard pass to Sam Donaldson at the 7:05 mark of the first quarter for the 7-0 lead. The game would stay there for the rest of the first half as it would be marred by turnovers. The Red Storm would extent the lead to 14-0 on the 1 yard run by Logan Brown at the 6:15 mark of the third quarter. Then just 50 seconds into the fourth quarter the Red Storm would make it 21-0 on a 15 yard run by Rhett Darrah. The Chiefs would get on the board in the final two minutes on a 13 yard quarterback keeper by Garett Adolfo to make it 21-7. Although with the win by the Saranac Lake Red Storm they go to 5-3 and advance to the New York State Section VII Class C Championship and play the Ausable Valley Patriots as the season comes to end for the Saranac Chiefs at 3-5. #3 Plattsburgh Hornets @ #2 Peru Indians - New York State Section VII Class B Semi-finals - October 25th 2019

Peru's Ian Joy (18) with the crunching hit on Plattsburgh's Colin Golden (44) as soon as he catches the ball. It would be the semi-finals of the New York State Section VII Class B and the #3 Plattsburgh Hotnets travel to the #2 Peru Indians. The Indians would take the 3-0 lead on the first drive of the game with a 24 yard yard field goal by Keegan Smith. The game would stay there till 2:30 left in the half when the Indians would add another field goal from Keegan Smith this time 32 yards for the 6-0 lead as they head to the break. When the teams came out for the second it would be the tail of two halves as the Hornets offense would open up with a 27 yard pass touchdown to Ian Detuelleo to give the Hornets the 7-6 lead five minutes into the half. Then just 2:30 minutes later the Hornets would strike again on the ten yard run by Javon Carpenter for the 14-6 lead. From there on the defenses would be a wall and there would be no scoring. With that be said the Plattsburgh Hornets would get the 14-6 over the Peru Indians and both teams go to 4-4 on the season while the Hornets head to the sectional championship against the Beekmantown Eagles. Plattsburgh's Myles King (88) with the crunching hit at the end of the game on Ticonderoga's Dillon Schlogl (1) to break up the pass. It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and it would feature the Ticonderoga Sentinels at the Plattsburgh Hornets. It would take sometime for the scoring to happen as the defenses were up to the challenge. Then Hornets would end up taking the 7-0 lead on the 17 yard touchdown pass to Dylan Garrant as the second quarter began. That is where the score would remain through the first half and until the 3:25 of the third quarter when the Hornets extend there lead to 14-0 on Javon Carpenters ten yard run. The Hornets would take control of the game with just under 4 minutes left in third quarter when Myles King would catch the pass at the goal line for the 20-0 lead. The Sentinels would get on the board 1:30 into the fourth quarter on Monty Benedict touchdown to make it 20-7 down the stretch. Although the Hornets would put the game away down the stretch on the 2 yard pass to Benjamin Bourdeau and secure the 27-7 win. In the winning effort the Hornets go to 2-4 while the Sentinels fall to 1-5 on the season. Gallery

Ausable Valley's Luis Perez (3) comes back on the ball for the catch and then turns up the field for the 65 yard touchdown.It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and would feature the Moriah Vikings traveling up to the the Au Sable Patriots. The game would start of good for the Patriots as they would hit Luis Perez with a 65 yard pass on the first play of the game for a quick 8-0 lead. Although the Vikings would strike right back two plays later with a Maddox Blaise 63 yard run to tie the game at 8. Then the Vikings would strike again at 4:17 mark of the first quarter on a 3 yard run and take a 16-8. The Vikings would strike one more time in the first quarter with 4 minutes left on Mason Spring sneak to take a 24-8 lead. As time would expire in the first quarter the Patriots would cut the lead in half at 24-15 on the Evan Snow QB sneak. The scoring would slow down from there as the Vikings would score 3 minutes into the quarter on the Luke Spring 15 yard pass to make it 30-15. The Vikings would score as time would expire in the half on a very controversial touchdown Braden Swan to make it 38-15 at the half. When the teams came back the second half the scoring would slow down. As the Vikings would get the only score of the half at 3:24 of the third quarter on the Maddox Blaise run and secure the 44-15 win. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings go to 4-2 while the Ausable Valley Patriots fall to 3-3 season as the teams go into the last week of the season. Gallery

Saranac Chiefs @ Peru Indians - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football - October 11th 2019

Saranac's Connor Recore (80) with the unbalance catch along the sidelines with Peru's Gavin Partdon (30) with the coverage. A sluggish first quarter wasn't enough to deter the Peru Indians, as they rode a solid running game to a second-half comeback, snapping their losing streak with a 21-11 win over Saranac. The Indians found themselves in a hole early, as Saranac's Connor Burns found Hunter Devins for a 73-yard touchdown pass. Two botched fourth-down snaps by Peru resulted in a pair of safeties, and the Chiefs led 11-0 after one quarter of play. That would be the end of the scoring for the visiting team, though, and Peru found its elusive running game on the back of Jack Hanson, who rattled off 181 rushing yards in the game. Twice in the second quarter, the Indians drove to within five yards, only to two turn the ball over each time. Momentum remained with Peru in the second half. An interception by Gavin Padron set the Indians up for a five-yard touchdown run by Hanson to cut the Chiefs' lead, and a 38-yard scoring run in the third quarter by Hanson gave the home side the lead.The Indians put the game away for good with a five-yard pass by Zach O'Connell to Austin Carpenter.The result leaves both teams with a record of 3-3 heading into the final week of the regular season. The Indians will host Saranac Lake at 7:30 p.m. Friday, while the Chiefs will host Plattsburgh High School Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Gallery

It would be week 5 of the champlain valley athletic conference and would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets at the Beekmantown Eagles at the all new Beekmantown Sports Complex. The game would take sometime to get going and it the Eagles would get on the board with the quarterback keeper for a 7 yard run by Nate Finley to make it 6-0. That would be the only scoring all the way til there was four minutes left in third quarter when Matt Dion would scoop up a fumble and take it 65 yards for the score. From there to the end the defense would clap down and the and the Eagles would get the 13-0 win. With the win the Eagles go to 4-1 and take the lead in the division while the Hornets fall to 1-4 on the season. Gallery
