The Northeastern Clinton Cougars would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets is section seven action. The game would remain scoreless until the 13:23 mark of the first when Jack Tolosky would light the lamp for the Hornets and make it 1-0. Then just 21 seconds into the second period the Hornets would score again to make it 2-0 on Alex Maston's goal. Then at the 10:35 mark of the second period, the Hornets would score again to make it 3-0 this time on Robbie Knowles's goal. That would end the scoring as the Hornets would get the 3-0 win. As for the goalie's Northeastern Clinton's Cody Young would stop 17 of 20 shots while Plattsburgh's Giancarlo Ventre would stop all 19 shots. Northeastern Clinton's Nick Palmer (5) with the hard check from behind on Malone's Tucker Bartenslager. The Malone Huskies would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in nonleague hockey action. The Cougars would get on the broad 30 seconds in and we're off and running on the Alex Duffy goal to make it 1-0. The Cougars would strike again at 3:46 on Jordan Lamere's goal to make it 2-0. That is where the game would remain until 21 seconds left in the second period when Tanner Studlack would score on the power play for the Huskies to make it 2-1 Cougars going into the third period. Then just 2:51 into the third Nick Palmer would score for the Cougars to make it 3-1. Then at 6:12, the Cougars get another goal this time from Dayton Roberts to make it 4-1. The Cougars would add one more at 15:18 to end the scoring with Justin Rabbideau's goal to give the Cougars the 5-1 victory. In the winning effort, Cody Young would stop 16 of 17 shots while Brandon Powers for the Huskies would stop 19 of 24. With the win, the Cougars will go to 8-7 as the Huskies fall to 8-8-1. Gallery

Malone's Trevor Cooley (12) with the riding hit into the broads on Potsdam's Mason Bartell (14). The Malone Huskies would host the Potsdam Sandstoners in Section X action. The Sandstoners would get the opening goal at the 6-minute mark of the first period on Corson Green goal 1-0 Sandstoners. The Sandstoners would make it 2-0 on Trevor Keleher's goal at 8:28 to end the first-period scoring. The Sandstoners would get the scoring started at 2:39 of the second on Mike Maroney's goal to make it 3-0. The Sandstoners would strike again seven seconds later on Josh Locey's goal to make it 4-0. The Sandstoners score again at 4:14 on Robbie Scotts' goal to make it 5-0. The Huskies would finally get on the broad 36 seconds later on Trevor Henderson's goal. Then with 1:16 left in the second Cameron Daniels would make it 5-2 at the end of the second. Then just a 1:15 into the third the Sandstoners would make it 6-2 Josh Locey's second goal of the night. Then at the 11:42 mark would make it 7-2 Logan Ford's goal. The Sandstoners would get one more as time expired in the game to make an 8-2 final. Malone's Cameron Daniels (44) lines up the Ogdensburg skater and gets him the crushing shoulder check. The Malone Huskies would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in Section X Division II action. The game would match two teams that were very evenly matched. It would take till the seven-minute marl of the 2nd period for the first goal when Drew Costigan would light the lamp with the assist going to Nolan Ruffa. Then with just over a minute left in the 2nd period, Ogdensburg would strike again this time on the power-play goal by Brandon Mullin with Jake Garrison picking up the assist to make to 2-0 Blue Devils after two. The Huskies would answer right back just 45 seconds into the third period Trevor Cooley would put away the loose puck for the power-play goal to make it a game at 2-1 Blue Devils. Then just over two minutes later the Blue Devils would take their two-goal lead back on Brandon Mullins's second goal of the game with the assist going to Gian Ruffa and Mark Morrow. The Blue Devils would end the scoring at 12:59 of the third period Burke Comeau scores on the power play with the assist going to Jake Garrison and Brandon Mullins. The Blue Devils would get the 4-1 victory to stay atop the Division II standings. In the losing effort, Joey Brown would stop 37 of 41 shots as the Huskies fall to 7-6-1 on the season.Gallery

Malone's Shawm Mulverhill (23) with the open wrister on net from close range. It would be a battle of top of 15 teams in the state as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies in non-league action. The Hornets would get the opening goal 8:40 into the first on Jack Tolosky's goal to make it 1-0. The Hornets would make it 2-0 on a power-play goal from John Anthony Fine Lease. The Huskies would get on the broad in the last two minutes of period Trevor Cooley's goal to make it 2-1 Hornets after the first. The Huskies tie up right off in the second period at two. The Huskies would take the 3-2 lead on Trevor Henderson's goal at 4:32 of the second period. The Huskies would make it 4-2 Jake Hennings's goal at 6:42. Then in the eight-minute, the Huskies would strike twice on goals from Cole Depuy and Tanner Studlack to make it 5-3 Huskies after the 2nd period. In the third period, the Hornets would get back within J.D. Side's goal at 5:21. Then tie it up with four minutes remaining om Devin Clarke's goal to send the game to overtime. In the overtime, the Huskies would make it enjoyable bus ride back as Tanner Studlack would score at 2:53 of the extra frame for the 6-5 win. NYSPHSAA Boy's Hockey North Country Cup Saranac Chiefs Vs #8 Churchville-Chilli January 19 2013

Saranac's Kyle Erickson (10) wins in the zone face off to gain the advantage for the Chiefs. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Churchville-Chilli in the North Country Cup at the Stafford Ice Arena in Plattsburgh. Churchville would get three goals in the first period and not look back from there. Churchville would take a 4-0 lead 8 minutes into the second period. Dylan Baker would get the Chiefs on the broad with a goal with under a minute left in the period. Although before time would expire Churchville would score again to make it 5-1 after the second period. In the third period, Churchville would score in the opening minute to make it 6-1. Then in the final 30 seconds of the game, the Chiefs would get two goals from Jacob Lilledahl and Matt McCasland to make it a 6-3 Churchville win. In the lose Zach LaReau would stop 37 of 43 shots as the Chiefs fall to 2-11. The Chiefs will look to regroup when they get back into sectional play next week. Gallery
