Malone's Harvey Smith (4) takes flight and lays the ball of the window for the lay up basket for two of his thirteen points on the night. The Malone Huskies would host the Massena Red Raiders in basketball action as part of the Section X Central Division action. The game would be very physical with many fouls called through out the games as both teams were looking for the edge. The Huskies would lead by a slim 20-19 after the first quarter. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Red Raiders would win the quarter 19-17 and take a 38-37 lead at the break. The third quarter would be were the Huskies would run away with the games as there defense would really step up as the Huskies win the third 19-5 and take a 56-43 lead after the third. The Red Raiders were unable to much of a run in the 4th as the Huskies would get the 75-61 victory. In the winning effort Jon Dubleavey would lead the with 15 points as the Huskies go to 16-1 on the season.Gallery

Malone's Mitch Gallagher (32) wins the opening tip of the game over Brushton-Moria's Justin Lavarnway (23) to spark the offense. The Malone Huskies would host the Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X action. The Huskies would leave little doubt in the game as they would take a 26-2 lead after the first. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies would win the quarter 24-6 and take a 50-8 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies win the third 24-7 and take a 74-15 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Huskies would put on the finishing touches as they would win the quarter 22-6 to get the easy 96-21 victory. In the winning effort Nate Monnette would lead all scores with 21 points. With the win the Huskies finish off the regular season with a 17-1 record and win the central division. Gallery

Peru's Kylar Agony pulling over Beekmentown's Anthony Cartee from behind to the back going for the pin in the 113lb division. The five section VII schools would meet at Saranac for the 2013 Section VII Wrestling Championship. There would be many good matches throughout the day with many of them going the distances and some needing the extra period. As a team Peru would defend there sectional title with a score of 244, 2nd Beekmentown 203, 3rd Saranac 169, 4th Northern Adirondack 155 and 5th Ausable Valley 79. We would like congratulate all the individual winners and wish them the best of luck at the State Championships in Albany at the Times Union Center on February 22nd and 23rd. Gallery

Malone's Joey Brown (30) sticks out the toe for the save on the low shot that was labeled for the bottom corner on the shot from Tupper Lake's Bryce Guerette (9). The Malone Huskies would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in Section X Division II action it would be Senior Night in Malone. The game would remain scoreless until the 8:14 mark of the second period when Malone's Tanner Studlack would light the lamp on the power play goal. The Huskies would score again on the power play at 12:46 of the second period when Cameron Daniels gets the goal. That would end the scoring for the night as the Huskies get the 2-0 win. The key to the Huskies win would be there ability to score on the power play. With the win the Huskies finish the regular season at 8-11-1. In the winning effort Malone Joey Brown would stop all fourteen shots to record the shutout. Gallery

Malone's Moegan Fountain drives past Ausable Valley's Talor Saltus (5) and goes to the hoop for the lay up basket for two of her eight points on the night. The Malone Huskies would host the Ausable Valley Patriots in non league action as the Huskies finish off the regular season. The game would be a defensive battle through out with both teams holding the other down. The Patroits would have the 14-8 lead after the first quarter. The Huskies would do there best to get in the game and a 20-18 lead at the break thanks to a 12-4 second quarter. Then when the teams returned for the third quarter it would stay tight as the Patroits would win the quarter 15-14 but the Huskies would still have the 34-33 lead. In the fourth quarter the Patroits defense would really step up as they would hold the Huskies to three points and win the quarter 10-3 to take the 43-37 victory. Malone's Rachel Lamica would lead all scorers with 12 points as the huskies fall to 10-7 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Chelsea VanGlahn (15) gets just enough on the rebound that slides just under goaltender and across the line for the goal. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host rival Elimra Soaring Eagles in the ECAC West Tournament Championship at the Plattsburgh State Field House. The Soaring Eagles would get the early lead on Tannis Lamoureux goal at the 2:36 mark of the first period. The Cardinals would tie the game up at 13:36 of the first period when Jenny Kistner's power play goal. Elimra would take the lead back at 4:35 of the second period Olivia Nystrom's goal. The Cardinals would tie it up again with 10 seconds left in the second period on Ali Vakos goal. Then at 11:32 of the third period Teal Gove would give the Cardinals there first lead of the night. Then just two minutes later the Cardinals would ectend the lead to 4-2 on Chelsea VanGlahn goal. As the Cardinals would get the 4-2 win Sydney Aveson would stop 22 of 24 shots on the night. With the win the Cardinals go to 25-0-2 on the season. With the win the Cardinals get the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament and will wait and see who they play in the Quarterfinals. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Chelsea VanGhaln (77) battle for the puck along the sidebrods in the offensive zone. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #8 St. Norbert Knights in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals would get the on the broad early when Teal Gove would score just 3 minutes into the game. Then with just three seconds left in the first Chelsea VanGlahn would score in the open night to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead after the first. Then with just over 5 minutes remaining in the second period Teal Gove would get her second goal of the game. The with just under two minutes left in the second period Shannon Stewart would score to give the Cardinals a 4-0 lead heading into the third. In the third period St. Norbert's would get on the broad two to make it 4-2 and make it a game down the stretch. Then with just over three minutes left in the game Emma Rutherford would score to put the icing on game and advance the Cardinals to the Frozen Four. In the winning effort Stdney Aveson would stop 13 of 15 shots. With the win the Cardinals go to 26-0-2 and advance to the Frozen Four next weekend in Minnesota where they will take on rival Middlebury. Gallery

East Coast Snocross - Titus Mountain Malone, NY March 22 2013

Mike Pillotte (748) Leo Patnaude (200) and Jesse James Bonaduce (322) take it three wide into the first corner at the start of the Pro-Lite race. The East Coast Snocross would return to Malone, NY at Titus Mountain and for second year in a row it would be season finale weekend. There would be around 200 racers that would take part in the 13 different classes offered. With the season championship on the line the racing would fast and furious as they would go for the season crown. The ECS would nort disapoint as they would make a very challenging course there were all drivers would need to stay focused or pay the price. The racers will return Saturday March 23 for the last race of the season. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Clarkson Golden Knights March 27 2013

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celeberate on the feild as Brett McClelland gets the game winner in overtime. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would fellow north country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights in non conference action. The game would be stragertic match up as both were looking for the edge throughout the game. The Cardinals would take 1-0 lead at the 6 minute mark of the 1st quarter of Joey Kramer's goal. The Golden Knights would tie it up at the 10 minute mark of the first quarter on Mark Nortz's goal. Then just 30 seconds the Cardinals would regain h lead on Brendan Damm's goal to make it 2-1. The Golden Knights would tie the game back up with two minutes left in the first on Jeff Sceria's goal to make it 2-2 after one. Three minutes into the second the Cardinals take the lead back on Tom Duggan's goal at 3-2. The just a minute later the Golden Knights tie it back up at 3-3 on Jack Dowst's goal. The Golden Knights would take there first lead of the game at the 7:30 mark of the second quarter on Brendon Sherin's goal and take the 4-3 lead into halftime. The Cardinals would tie it back up just two minutes into the third period on Joey Lramer's second goal of the night. Then with under 5 minutes left in the third Brett McClelland would score to regain the Cardinals lead at 5-4. Then Brett McClelland would strike again just 1:30 for his on the day and make it 6-4 Cardinals. The Golden Knights Mark Notz would score his second of the night 2:30 into the fourth to make it 6-5. Then with just over 5 minutes left the Golden Knights would tie the game at 6 on Corey Herrington's goal. With just over three minutes left the Cardinals regain the lead on Tim Lawerence's goal at 7-6. The Golden Knights would tie it right back up on Brendon Sherin's second goal of the game to force overtime. In the overtime Brett McClelland would send the home team and crowd home happy with the game winner at 2:09 of overtime for the hat trick on the day. In the winning effort Cardinals goalie Gordie Gehring would make 11 saves as the Cardinals go to 8-1 on the season. The Cardinals return to conference play March 30th against #1 Cortland State. Plattsburgh State's Brian Latulipe (11) feilds the grounder at shortstop and fires onto first for the out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up the home portion of the season againist SUNYAC foe Cortland tate Red Dragons in double header action. The Cardinals wouldn't have much of a answer as they would lose both games by a score of 7-0. The downfall for the Cardinals would there errors and giving up the big inning. In game would they would just not be able to get hits as they were held to four hits. In game two there downfall would be four errors and allowing a five run 5th inning. We lose the Cardinals fall to 3-11 on the season, They will look to get back on track Wednesday when they host Lyndon State. Gallery
