#2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs #9 Elimra College Soaring Eagles December 11th 2010

Plattsburgh State's Helen Giroux (20) pays the price for the shot on net that is steered wide with the toe save by Elmiras goalie. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would come up on the short end of a 3-2 contest against the Elmira College Soaring Eagles in a battle of two top 10 teams in the nation. Plattsburgh State would get the opening score by Kayla Colang to take the 1-0 lead 7 minutes into the first period. The Soaring Eagles would answer quickly back with the tying goal 2 minutes later. Then at the 14-minute mark of the period, they would take the 2-1. The Cardinals Kylie Klassen would tie the game at 2 with 30 seconds remaining in the first. The Soaring Eagles would get the game-winner just a minute into the second period for the 3-2 victory. With the lose the Cardinals take their first loss of the season falling to 7-1 and with the win the Soaring Eagles improve to 8-2-1 and are tied atop the conference standings. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Kate Fairfield tries pushes the puck by goal line on the doorstop, unfortunately, the Norwich goaltender was able to pin the puck on the post to deny the cardinals. Plattsburgh State would fall to Norwich 3-2 when Norwich was able to get two goals in the final 90 seconds. With the Cardinals, season comes to end and finish with a 23-3-2 record. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Stephen Moon (7) splits the defenders and puts the shot on net. Although the Cardinals would not be able to hold on as Elimra would come back and the Cardinals come up short 4-2 as Elimra would win the ECAC West title. The Cardinal did, however, earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament and will host Norwich on March 13th. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Laurie Bowler (22) would finish off her natural hat trick in the 3rd period with this top-shelf goal. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would finish off there weekend sweep of the #4 RIT Tigers with a convincing 5-2 victory. The Cardinals started off by getting three unanswered goals until the Tigers got on the board with 6 seconds left in the second period. In the third period, the Tigers did get to a one-goal game with 5 minutes to play. The Cardinals would answer back with 2 goals to secure the 5-2 victory. Gallery

In the first of a two-game series featuring teams ranked in the top five in the nation. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 RIT Tigers. The game would be scoreless until Stephanie Moberg would light the lamp for her 10 the goal of the season 13 seconds into the second period. Each team would score one more goal in the period giving the Cardinals a 2-1 heading into the third. In the third period, the Cardinals would score two more goals to take a 4-1 lead until two minutes left in the game when the Tigers would score two goals in the last two minutes to make the cardinals fight to hang onto the lead.
