The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game at 12:03 of the first period from Katie Granato. The Eagles would extend the lead to 2-0 on Durnell's goal at 18:16 of the first period. The Cardinals would immediately make it a one-goal game again on Courtney Moriarty's goal 22 seconds later. The Cardinals would come out firing in the second period and tie the game up at 2 30 seconds into the second period on Mackenize Mullen's goal. Although just over two minutes later the Soaring Eagles would regain the 3-2 lead on Emma Crooker's goal. The Eagles would add an empty netter in the closing minute to secure the 4-2 victory. With the win, the Elmira Soaring Eagles would be crowned the 2017 UNO Classic champion. While the Cardinals would fall to 6-2 behind Brooke Wolejko's 20 save night. Gallery
