Clarkson's Anthony Romano (20) with the early goal on the doorstep to get the Golden Knights started off. As the #7 Clarkson Golden Knights would host the #13 Arizona State Sun Devils in the first of a pair of games on the weekend in front of 2900 fans. The game would start off good for the home Golden Knights as they would take the quick 1-0 lead three minutes into the game on a goal from Anthony Romano. The game would stay there till the 12-minute mark of the second period when the Sun Devils would tie the game up on the James Sanchez goal. The game would stay there through the rest of regulation as there would be no more scoring. The game would go to overtime and the Golden Knights would send the home crowd home early with a winner just a minute in from Jack Jacome.
