The Adirondack Thunder would get the opening goal of the game from Mike Szmatula goal at 7:35 of the first period. The game would stay there till the 12-minute mark of the second period when Kevin Lough would score to make it 2-0 lead. Then early on in the third period the Thunder would extend there lead to 3-0 on the Kelly Summers goal, Although the Monarchs would not go quietly as they add two goals during the period and make it a 3-2 game. The Thunder would put the icing on the cake late in the game when Conor Riley would score and get the 4-2 victory.
