Bucko Branham (20) finds his way into victory lane for the first time of the 2022 season in the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified division. It would be the fifth week of racing at the Airborne Speedway and it would be Twin 20's for the Renegade division presented by Seacomm Federal Credit Union. First up would be the heat races for the Hartson Total Opening Renegades and the winners would be Shawn Duquette and Richie Turner. Then next up would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified with their three heats and the winners would be Michael Wright, Tanner Forbes, and Matt Leonard. Then we would have three heats for the Taylor Rental four cylinders and the winners would be Josh Laporte, Nate Smart, and Mat Parker. Then we would finish off the qualifying with the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified heat and the winner would be Dale Gonyo. Then we would be on to the main events for the evening and the first up would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades' first main and it would come down to a late-race restart that would see Zack Daniels take the win from third with 2 laps to go. Then it would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for their 25-lap main event and would see Bucko Branham get the win from his front-row start. Still, it would not be without competition as Beau Reeves would come up from the 8th starting spot for a second-place finish and would be charging for the win and Tanner Forbes would finish off the top three. Then we would have the Taylor Rental Four Cylinders and it would look like Josh Laporte was going to run away with the race but a late-race caution would set up a two-lap shutout. In that 2 lap shutout, it would be between Laporte and Jake Fountain for the win and Fountain would out drag him to the checkered off of turn four but in the end, Josh Laporte would get the win as Fountain was unable to pass technical inspection after the race. Next up would be the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for their 12-lap main that would go green to checkered and getting his first win was Mike McGinn. Then it would be the final race of the night as the Renegades would come back out for their second main event of the night and would see Shawn Duquette get the early lead. Although Zack Daniels would charge from his dead last race start to the front and get the win for the double on the night over Richie Turner and Tylor Terry.Gallery
