The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would be back in action Monday, April 4th for their 4th game in four days as they would take on the SUNY Poly Wildcats in non-conference action. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as Melfi would have the rbi double for the 1-0 lead after one. The Cardinals would stay hot in the second with three more runs highlighted by an error that would score two cardinals for the 4-0 lead. The Wildcats would get on the board in third thanks to a Cardinals error. The Cardinals would get a solo run in the third on Wein rbi single for the 5-1 lead. In the fourth inning, the Cardinals would break the game wide open with a six-run inning highlighted again by Wein this time with a 2 rbi hit, and have an 11-1 lead. In the sixth inning, the teams would trade a pair of runs both coming by the way of the wild pitch for a 12-2 game. The Wildcats would get another run in the seventh on the rbi double by Montrose for the 12-3 game. In the eighth inning, the Cardinals would get two more runs to end the scoring for the night on a pair of rbi singles by Roman and Cergol for the 14-3 victory. In the winning effort, Mordecki would get credit for the win going five innings giving up 1 run on four hits while striking out four as the Cardinals go to 9-6 on the season. Gallery
