Plattsburgh State's Marcus Mitchell (39) uses the body as he goes down the slot to gain position. It would be a non-conference matchup as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the brand new Riviers Raiders at the Fieldhouse on a senior night. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would get the opening goal at the 9:41 mark of the first period on the Christian Difelice for the 1-0 lead. Although the Raiders would fight the rest of the period and get the equalizer with four minutes left in the period from Tyler Duderstadt. The tie would be short-lived as the Cardinals regained the lead at 2-1 on the Carson Gallagher goal with 1:17 left in the period. As the second period would get underway the Raiders would actually fight and take the lead to the Milan Breczko powerplay goal. The tie would be short-lived as the Cardinals would take the lead back at 3-2 on the Jacob Modry goal 30 seconds later. The Raiders would keep fighting and tie the game again with just under five minutes left on the Jon Tavella goal/ The game would stay there until the 8:54 mark of the third period when the Raiders would get their first lead of the game on the Ryan Nolte goal at 4-4. Although the Cardinals would fight all the way to the last horn and get the tying goal with 12 seconds left on the Carson Gallaghers second of the game to force overtime. In that overtime period, the Cardinals would send the faithful home happy as Luk Jirousek would light the lamp 1:38 into the overtime for the 5-4 win. In the winning effort, the Cardinals go to 9-5-3 while the Raiders fall to 4-9-2. Gallery
