Plattsburgh's Riguelson Filosca (51) steps in front of the receiver for the interception and would return it 57 yards for the touchdown. It would be a rare Monday night game in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the Saranac Lake Red Storm would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets to put an end to week 6. The game would be a defensive battle through most of the first half as the Hornets would get the lone score of the half from Trenton Griffiths on a 9 yard run in the closing minute of the half and take the 7-0 lead at the break. As the second half would start the Hornet's defense would stay strong as they would have a 51-yard interception for a score from Riguelson Filosca and extend their lead to 14-0. Then on the next Red Storm drive the Hornets defense would answer again with another interception for a score this time 58 yards and Michael Phillips to take a 21-0 lead. Then at the 3:18 mark of the fourth quarter, the Hornets would put the icing on the cake with a 12 yard run by Trenton Griffiths for his second score of the game. With 4:25 left in the game, the Red Storm would get on the board to avoid the shutout on the Markus Navarra 11 yard touchdown to make it a 27-7 game and that's where the game would end. In the winning effort, the Hornets go to 3-3 on the season and will finish off their season at Ausable Valley. As the Saranac Lake Red Storm falls to 3-3 on their season and will finish at home against Peru.
