Dave Rodgers (144) using the high side to his advantage to get his first Mohawk International Raceway victory. It would be night #1 of the Mohawk Nationals presented by St. Lawerence Radiology with the Dirtcar 358 Modified Series, Sportsman Modified, Mod Lites, and Super Stock. Just as hot laps were wrapping a rainstorm would come through it would only last 30 minutes but in that time it would dump a ton of water on the track but the track crew would not give up as they would get to work right after the rain went through and we would eventually get back on the track as the racing would start around 11 pm. The first race out on the track would also be a main inside of the Super Stock division and the track would definitely still be a little moisture still in the track as they would have issues keeping the cars under control doing the best in the wet would be Tyler Bushey bringing home the victory. Next up as far as the mains would be the Mod Lites and you would see a return to the track familiar one in victory lane as Tucker Halliday would get the 20 lap win. Then to track would be the 358 Modified Series for a 60 lap event and getting the lead off the start is Ryan Barlett. He would be able to hold the lead to lap 30 when he made a mistake and Erick Rudolph capitalize and took the lead. Although he would not be able to cruise away and hide as Billy Dunn and Tim Fuller would be hard-charging trying to take it away but Erick Rudolph would hold on for the win. Then the last race of the night/morning would be Sportsman Modified in the 8th annual Pete Mitchell memorial event. Corey Castell would take the lead off the start of the 54 lap race. On lap 14 Dave Rodgers would use a lapper a pick and take the leade over Castell. From there Dave Rodgers would be in control for his first at the Mohawk International Raceway but that would not be without challenge Dan Rombough and Ryan Shanhann with that racing would come to end at about three in the morning and it would be quick rest and onto night #2 at mohawk nationals.
