The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would come up on the short end of a 3-2 contest against the Elmira College Soaring Eagles in a battle of two top 10 teams in the nation. Plattsburgh State would get the opening score by Kayla Colang to take the 1-0 lead 7 minutes into the first period. The Soaring Eagles would answer quickly back with the tying goal 2 minutes later. Then at the 14-minute mark of the period, they would take the 2-1. The Cardinals Kylie Klassen would tie the game at 2 with 30 seconds remaining in the first. The Soaring Eagles would get the game-winner just a minute into the second period for the 3-2 victory.
