The game would remain scoreless until the last minute of the first period when the Huskies would make it 1-0 on Jordan Schrafs goal. The game would stay there till the 6-minute mark of the second period when Hornet's Devin Clarke would score to make it 1-1. The Huskies would regain the lead at 2-1 on Evan Keegan's goal at 12:59 of the second period. Then at 2:57 of the third period Huskies, Kyler Head would make it 3-1 with a shorthanded goal. Then at the 8:42 mark of the third, the Hornet's would do there best to get back in the game with a power-play goal by Andrew Bechard to make it 3-2. Although it wouldn't be enough and from there the Huskies would hold on for the 3-2 victory. In the winning effort, Malone's Joey Brown makes 28 saves and the Huskies go to 1-0 on the season. Gallery
