The Beekmantown Eagles would celebrate as they get the game-winner and stay perfect on the season. It would be a non-league game as the Beekmantown Eagles would host from Section X the Potsdam Sandstoners as both teams were looking to get the 2023 portion of the season started the right way. The game would start off well for the home Eagles as they would get on the board at about the five minutes of the first period on the Zach Lapier goal. The lead would only last about five minutes as the Sandstoners would tie the game at one. The game would stay there til there the 12:00 mark of the period when Sam Bingel would score to make it a 2-1 Eagles lead. The lead would be short-lived as the Sandstoners would tie the game at two. The Sandstoners would start off the second period hot as they would score three goals in the first two minutes and take a 5-2 lead. Then just 19 seconds later the Eagles would slow rush as they would get their own goal from Zach Lapier for his second of the game and make it a 5-3 game. Then at the 5:16 mark of the period, the Eagles would make it a one-goal game on the power play goal at 5-4. Then with under two minutes left in the period, the Sandstoners would regain their two-goal lead at 6-4. Then at the 7:48 mark of the third period, Cooper Burdo would score to make it a one-goal game again at 6-5. Then with 6:30 minutes left in the game, the Eagles would come all the way back and tie the game on Zach Lapier's third goal of the game. The game would head to overtime and in that period Keegan Seamone would score 1:44 into the overtime and get the 7-6 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles would stay perfect on the season at 7-0 while the Sandstoners fall to 5-3 on the season. Gallery

Albany Invitational Championship Night December 30th 2022

Andrew Alvidrez raises the buckle as he is crowned the 2022 Albany Invitational winner and winner for the second event in a row on the season and becomes the number one rider in the world. It would be the championship night of the PBR's return to Albany, NY after a 14-year absence and the packed house would be treated to a great performance by the cowboys and bulls on the night. It would take a score of 87 to make the championship round, and ten riders would be perfect on the weekend headed into the championship round. In the championship round, Rafael Jose de Brito would have the first pick in the final 12 as he scored 176.25 and would take Top Dollar. In the championship round, there would be four qualified rides and the top score of the round and the weekend would go to Mason Taylor with 89.5 and an event total of 178.5 which would be good enough for fourth on the weekend. When the dust would settle on the weekend there would be three riders that would ride all three bulls with Andrew Alvidrez getting the win for the second event in a row with a score of 264.5 rounding out the top three would be Boudreaux Campbell 2nd with a 260.75 ad Silvano Alves with a 254. Next up will be the first major of the year as they head into New York City and Madison Square Gardens and the question going into the weekend is will Andrew Alvidrez make it three in a row as he looks to extend his lead as the top rider in the world on the PBR Unleash the Beast tour. Rafael Jose de Brito in perfect form as he rode Yukon to a 88.25 and have the lead after the opening night The PBR would make their triumph return to Albany NY and the MVP Arena after a 14-year absence and bring the Unleash the Beast Tour with the top 35 riders and bulls in the world and the fans that filled the arena would be there be entertained. With that it would be a night that you would say would be a draw as the buck off to ride rate was 18 rides on the night. The bulls were having issues on the early part of the night with traction on the dirt as the dirt was still a little wet that they had trucked in after all the snow that area has seen lately. With that being said the leader after night one would be Rafael Jose de Brito with a 88.25 second would be Andrew Alvidrez with 87.5 (going for a second win a row while Tate Pollmeier, Colten Fritzlan and Manoelito de Souza Junior would round out the top 5 on the night. The riders and bulls will be back in action tomorrow night as they will go for the second and championship round to determine the winner of the PBR return to Albany in the Albany invitational and who will have all the momentum as they head into the first major of the season next weekend at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. Boquet Valley Griffins Vs Saranac Chiefs December 28th 2022

Saranac's Korbin Cranford (11) with the midrange jumper over the defender for the score as the Chiefs rout the Griffins. It would be the last game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would pit the Saranac Chiefs and Boquet Valley Griffins with the winner being named the boy portions champion. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would be on fire and have a 20-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would stay hot but the Griffins would find their stroke the Chiefs would win the quarter 20-16 and take a 40-19 lead into halftime. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Chiefs would continue their hot hand with a 23-4 quarter and take a 63-23 lead into the 4th quarter. In that 4th quarter with the winning a forgone conclusion the Chiefs would win the quarter 16-7 and get the convincing 70-39 victory. With the win, the Saranac Chiefs win the boy's portion of the 2022 Holiday Classic making it a clean sweep for the Saranac Chiefs at the Holiday Classic the boy's team would go to 4-5 on the season and the Griffins fall to 3-3 on the year. Saranac Chiefs Vs Seton Catholic Knights December 28th 2022

Saranac's Molly Denis (10) takes it along the baseline on the Seton Catholic defender for the score. It would be the third game on the day of the second day of action at the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and as the Saranac Chiefs and Seton Catholic Knights would meet up. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would have a 10-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would step up their offense with a 15-3 quarter and take a 25-7 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Chiefs would have an 18-5 quarter and take a 43-12 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter with the outcome of the game already determined the Griffins would win the quarter 7-6 although the Chiefs would hold on for the 49-19 victory. With the win, the Saranac Chiefs would win the Girls' portion of the Holiday Classic and move their record to 6-1 on the season as the Knights fall to 2-5 on the season. Gallery

Crown Point Panthers Vs Seton Catholic December 28th 2022

Crown Point's Alex Stone (12) with the tight full-court defense on Seton Catholic's Aiden Pearl (22) as he goes for the charge. It would be the second game of the day at the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Seton Catholic Knights would meet up with the Crown Point Panthers. It would look like a couple of evenly matched teams through the first quarter as the Panthers would have the slim 11-9 lead. In the second quarter, the Panthers would show their might with a 16-8 quarter and take a 27-17 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Knights would start to make their comeback as they would win the quarter 14-12 but still trail 39-31 as they headed to the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Knights would step up their defense and have a 10-2 quarter and force the overtime tied at 41. In that overtime it would be tight throughout as the Panthers would win 7-5 and get the 48-46 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers went 1-1 at the Holiday Classic and are 7-1 on the season as the Knights went 0-2 at the Holiday Classic and are 2-5 on the season. Gallery

Boquet Valley's Ella Lobell (15) beats the defenders and takes it down the lane and lays it off the window for the score. It would be the opening game of the 2nd day of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would feature the Boquet Valley Griffins and the Peru Nighthawks in Girl's Basketball action. It would be a tight game through the first quarter as the Griffins would have a slim 9-8 lead. In the second quarter, the defenses would stay tall and the low scoring would continue with a Griffins 8-5 quarter and have a 17-13 lead as they went to the intermission. When the teams would return for the third quarter the Griffins would their offense and go on a surge for the quarter with a 16-6 and take a 33-19 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would do their best to get back in the game but it would come up short with a 13-11 quarter as the Griffins would get the 44-32 victory. In the winning effort, they would go 1-1 at the Classic and go 6-3 on the season while the Nighthawks would go 0-2 at the Classic and 3-3 on the season. Gallery

It would be the last game of the day on the opening night of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as it would pit the Peru Nighthawks and Seton Catholic Knights. It would be an even match through although on the low-scoring end to the point where the Nighthawks would lead 5-4 after the first quarter. Although in the second quarter the Knights would find their shooting rhyme and have a 13-4 quarter to take the 17-9 lead into the locker room. When the teams came out of the locker room the Nighthawks would flip the script with an 11-2 quarter into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Nighthawks would need some last-second magic to keep the game alive as they would score in the last seconds of the game to force overtime tied at 30. In the overtime frame, the Nighthawks would find their offense and pull away at the end with a 12-6 quarter to secure the 42-36 victory. In the winning effort, the Peru Nighthawks will have a shot to be crowned the 2022 Holiday Classic champion as they will take on the Boquet Valley Griffins as they go to 3-2 on the season and the Knights fall to 2-4 on the season. Crown Point's Trevor Harris (34) with the hard contact as he derived the paint for the basket on Boquet Valley's Jackson Hooper (3). It would be the third game of the day on the opening day of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Crown Point Panthers and the Boquet Valley Griffins in a rematch of last season's section vii class d finals and it would be seen way throughout the game. It would be a very even game from the start so even that it would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, there still would be no separation as they would tie at twelve for the quarter and go into the intermission tied at 22. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be seen that the Panthers had regrouped their approach and would have a 22-14 quarter and take a 44-36 lead into the final quarter. In that final quarter it would be low scoring but the Panthers would win the quarter at 9-6 and hold on for the 53-42 victory. In the winning effort, the Panthers would now take on the Saranac Chiefs on December 28th as they would go for the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic title and go to 6-1 on the season as the Griffins fall to 3-2 on the season. Saranac Chiefs Vs Boquet Valley Griffins December 27th 2022

Saranac's Brenna Ducatte (40) breaks in on the hoop in the early stages of the game for the way hoop. It would be the second game of the first day of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic. It would feature a team from the Champlain Valley and one from the Mountain Valley inside section vii as the Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Boquet Valley Griffins. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would jump out to the 12-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would start to pull away in the game with a 26-8 quarter and take a 38-12 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Griffins would have no answer for the Chiefs as the Chiefs would win the half 37-18 and hold on for the 75-30 victory. In the winning effort, the Chiefs would go to 5-0 on the season and take on the Seton Catholic Knights tomorrow (December 28th) as they will go for the crown of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and the Boquet Valley Griffins fall to 5-3 season.
